THE FOUR C'S

Color:  Refers to the degree to which a diamond is colorless.  Diamonds are found in almost every color of the rainbow, but white is still the most popular.  The grades of color are from D (colorless) to Z.  Truly colorless stones, graded D are treasured for their rarity and are highest on the color pyramid.

Cut:  Refers to the angles and proportions of a diamond.  It takes a master cutter to reveal the stone's true brilliance, fire and ultimate beauty.  A well cut diamond will internally reflect light from one mirror-like facet to another and out the top.

Clarity:  Refers to the amount of inclusions in a diamond.  Every diamond is unique.  Inclusions provide a fingerprint within the stone.  They are measured from "Flawless" (FL) or (IF) to "Included" (I).  Those in the middle are "Very Very Slightly Included" (VVS) or (VS) to "Slightly Included" (SI).

Carat:  Refers to the weight of the diamond.  One carat is equal to 200 milligrams.  The larger the carat weight the rarer the diamond is and the more expensive the price will be.
