Meet Buhler - Our Warm-hearted Greeter
Buhler is our yellow Labrador, born December 28, 2008. We call him “Buhler the Jeweler.” He’s become quite a celebrity dog in Petaluma.
Here’s a question we often hear. Do you know the answer? How did Buhler (the Jeweler) get his name?
- 1) He’s named after Ferris’ Day Off
- 2) Mike and Tammy didn’t know how to spell “bully”
- 3) He’s named after a town in Kansas
- 4) He’s named after his favorite tobacco company
- 5) He’s named after Mike’s favorite farm machinery company
The Answer: 3) Buhler was named after the town in Kansas where Mike and Tammy went to high school. They dated for a short time, but went separate ways. Years later, they ran into each other in Seattle and began dating. The picture above shows the two six years after they married.
More About Buhler The Jeweler
Fortunately, the store doesn’t rely on Buhler for security. His temperament is better suited for greeting people and entertaining children. Buhler never met a customer he didn’t like, especially when they bring affectionate strokes or dog treats.
You might find Buhler walking his owners along Petaluma Boulevard or in Walnut Park. Buhler’s workday starts winding down in the afternoon, when you’ll find him napping in his special corner. Buhler was recently featured in the local paper, the Petaluma Argus-Courier and its website, Petaluma 360. You can read the article about our celebrity dog here: Cold Noses and Warm Greetings.
Besides serving as greeter and dog about town, Buhler puts his modeling skills to work in advertisements and video commercials for the store. You’ll find some of his favorites in the gallery below.
Like any canine celebrity, Buhler enjoys dishing out wisdom to his fans on Facebook. Buhler will gladly accept your Friend Request. Buhler’s Facebook Page
